Job summary

Batangas Healthcare Specialist Medical Center is seeking a Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processes for hospital staff in Batangas. The role includes computing earnings, deductions, generating payslips, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate with Finance and HR to prepare payroll schedules, handle deductions for taxes, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and hospital benefits, and provide accurate payroll

Job description

1. 1. Computes and prepares payroll and posts pertinent data on payroll transaction file.
2. 2. Prepares the schedule of employees’ earnings and deductions of the rank and file payroll.
3. 3. Generates employees’ pay slips.
4. 4. Controls and updates employees’ ledgers.
5. 5. Prepares applications, certifications and other documents related to payroll matters.
6. 6. Generates bank transmittal and pay advice for transfer of funds for payroll purposes.
7. 7. Generates analysis of expenditures on personnel payroll and benefits for each of the cost centers based on the final schedule of employees’ earnings and deductions.
8. 8. Inputs approved salary deductions: hospitalization, pharmacy purchases, unliquidated cash advances, etc.
9. 9. Generates summary of deductions submitted to the Finance Department for posting in the subsidiary ledgers; Evaluates charge sales forms of employees requesting for pharmacy charge sales.
10. 10. Computes for and ensures the undertaking of deductions from the employees’ payroll, premium and loan amortization remittances and income tax deduction due the SSS, BIR, Pag-IBIG, Insurance, National Home Mortgage Fund Monthly Reports.
11. 11. Prepares schedule of cash advances availed of by employees for submission to the Finance Department for posting into journal vouchers.
12. 12. Receives all documents pertaining to employee benefits from the various accredited agencies and files these for easy access.
13. 13. Ensures compliance by the Hospital on salary and benefits guidelines issued by government regulatory agencies such as the Department of Labor and Employment, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, National Home Mortgage Fund, etc., including submission of reportorial requirements.
14. 14. Explains the employee benefits to newly hired personnel and oversees the preparation of the employee orientation program.
15. 15. Explains the mechanics of the availment of employee benefits to qualified personnel and assists the employees in the access of these benefits.
16. 16. Handles routine correspondence including insurance forms and claims, health plans, and loan applications.
17. 17. Coordinates with HMO regarding the conduct of the annual physical examination of all employees.
