Government Mandated Benefits
Compensation and Benefits is responsible for ensuring the timely submission of all government-mandated contributions and guides and coaches the HR Assistant for Compensation and Benefits. Ensures that all company-initiated benefits are processed promptly.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Administration
- Prepare and process payroll in coordination with Accounting and Timekeeping departments.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of salary computation, overtime pay, allowances, and other monetary benefits.
- Implement government-mandated wage orders, salary adjustments, and other compensation changes.
- Conduct regular salary benchmarking and internal equity analysis specific to construction positions (e.g., engineers, foremen, project staff, site workers).
- Assist in the design and implementation of pay structures, job grading, and salary scales aligned with company policies.
Benefits Management
- Administer statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR) and ensure accurate and timely remittance.
- Handle enrollment, updates, and claims processing for company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance, group life insurance, or accident coverage.
- Monitor and administer leave benefits, service incentives, and other non-cash benefits.
- Coordinate with third-party providers for HMO, uniforms, shuttle services, and other employee benefits.
- Conduct periodic evaluation of benefit programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and government regulations (DOLE, BIR, etc.).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to payroll, benefits, and statutory remittances.
- Support audit requirements and maintain complete and accurate payroll and benefits records.
Employee Relations Support
- Address compensation- and benefits-related queries and concerns from employees and personnel.
- Provide orientation to new hires regarding pay, deductions, and benefits entitlements.
- Educate employees on compensation policies and procedures to promote understanding and transparency.
Policy and Process Improvement
- Review and update compensation and benefits policies in coordination with HR Management.
- Recommend process improvements for payroll efficiency and data accuracy.
- Utilize payroll systems to automate reports and improve data management.
Support to HR and Management
- Provide compensation data and analysis to support manpower planning, budgeting, and retention programs.
- Assist in the preparation of annual HR budget for salaries and benefits.
- Coordinate with Project HR to consolidate payroll and attendance reports from various project sites.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any related field.
- At least 1–3 years of experience in Compensation and Benefits, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws and statutory benefits.
- Proficient in payroll systems and MS Excel.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and discreet with confidential information.
