Job summary

John Clements Family is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage ROC department schedules within an electronic staffing system in line with hospital policies. You will partner with department managers to forecast staffing needs and approve or deny PTO or schedule changes.

You will publish schedules, assign specialty roles, monitor vacancy rates, and generate staffing reports to help leaders optimize coverage, census, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Management, or related field.
• 1+ years experience with staffing, workforce & scheduling software.
• UKG certification.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Creates and edits schedules for ROC supported departments in the electronic staffing system in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with department managers to prepare accurate daily, weekly, and shift schedules that reflect forecasted staffing needs.
• Reviews, approves, or denies schedule requests (PTO, changes, preferences) based on departmental needs and established guidelines, communicating outcomes to leaders as appropriate.
• Balances and publishes schedules at the conclusion of self-scheduling periods to ensure appropriate coverage and efficiency.
• Assigns specialty roles based on unit-specific operational requirements and skill-mix standards.
• Maintains department schedules within the electronic staffing system, ensuring accurate daily coverage and open shift needs to recruit additional personnel based on projected census, acuity, and budget considerations.
