JOB SUMMARY:
Senior operations role providing technical subject-matter expertise, standards ownership, and business/financial oversight across Hijo Greens' hydroponic farm operations. Serves as the escalation point for technical issues beyond the Agripreneur's scope, oversees farm management performance, and — as the business expands to additional sites — standardizes practicAes and benchmarks performance across locations. Supports the COO's final approval of farm budgets, purchases, and inventory requests by preparing consolidated business context and performance review, without holding independent approval authority.

1. Technical Standards and Subject Matter Expertise:
- Set, own, and periodically review technical SOPs and hydroponic production standards, including nutrient/fertilizer formulation methodology and crop protection program frameworks, applied across the farm(s).
- Serve as the escalation point for technical problems the Agripreneur cannot resolve independently.
- Review and approve any deviation from established SOPs or technical standards.
- Monitor emerging hydroponic technologies, inputs, and practices, and recommend adoption where it improves yield, quality, or cost efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and sign-off support to the Agripreneur on production planning, fertilizer/nutrient formulation, and crop protection program design.
2. Multi-Site Oversight
Scales as the business expands beyond the current single-farm operation.
- Directly supervise the Agripreneur, and additional Agripreneurs/Farm Managers as new sites open.
- Standardize operating procedures, quality benchmarks, and reporting formats across all sites.
- Conduct periodic site visits and performance reviews to benchmark farm-level performance and identify best practices for cross-site replication.
3. Business & Financial Oversight
- Review Agripreneur-submitted operational and farm performance reports; consolidate with Data Analyst inputs for management and business reviews.
- Own farm-level P&L review and periodic budget planning.
- Support the COO's review of purchase and inventory requests submitted by the Agripreneur by providing consolidated business context and performance data. Final approval authority for all purchases and disbursements rests solely with the COO. \
- Prepare and/or endorse business cases for capital expenditures, new site expansion, or major operational changes.
4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure farm-level compliance with food safety, agricultural, and environmental regulations is upheld across sites.
- Own the segregation-of-duties framework across farm roles (requesting, executing, validating, approving) and periodically review its effectiveness.
5. General Manager
- Provide leadership development guidance to the Agripreneur, particularly in preparing high-potential Agriculturists for future Agripreneur roles as the business expands to new locations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Consistency of technical standards and SOP compliance across site(s).
- Timeliness and quality of consolidated business review materials.
- Budget/P&L accuracy and forecast reliability.
- Successful resolution of escalated technical issues.
- Readiness of the succession pipeline (Agriculturists developed toward Agripreneur roles).
- Site expansion and cross-site benchmarking outcomes, as applicable.

a. Internal Relationship: COO, Agripreneur, Data Analyst, Sales, Finance, Warehouse, Admin
b. External Relationship: Regulatory bodies, technical/industry consultants as needed

b. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Primarily office-based with periodic farm-site visits; may require travel between sites as the business expands.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
a. Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.
b. Experience: At least 5–8 years of experience in hydroponic/controlled-environment agriculture or commercial farm operations, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial or technical leadership capacity.
c. License (s) and Training (s) Required: Licensed Agriculturist preferred; food safety/GAP certification a plus
