Job summary

Satellite Office is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to run accurate, compliant payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple U.S. states and global locations. The role uses Workday as the payroll system of record and requires current Workday expertise.

You will process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll, manage garnishments, PTO accruals, and ensure timely payments. You’ll mentor teammates and collaborate with HR and Finance to improve payroll processes.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state and international processing.
• Strong, current experience with Workday — this is a must‑have for this role right now
• Advanced Excel skills — VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, reconciliations
• Working knowledge of payroll tax rules across federal, state, local, and pension contexts
• Discretion in handling confidential data, and fluent English

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll across multiple states and global locations in Workday
• Manage garnishments, wage verifications, and payroll compliance
• Audit and reconcile PTO accruals, deductions, and related balances
• Ensure commissions, incentives, and bonuses are paid accurately and on time
• Own the timekeeping system for hourly employees and run recurring/ad hoc payroll reports
• Support Workday configuration, testing, data validation, and implementation work
• Partner with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to continuously improve payroll accuracy and process
• Mentor teammates through system updates and process changes
