You will lead a team, liaise with clients and carriers, manage documentation, monitor performance, and drive process improvements to enhance service quality and cost efficiency.
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Forwarding Assistant Manager to support our Freight Forwarding Manager in overseeing daily operations. This role ensures smooth coordination of shipments across air, sea, and land, compliance with customs regulations, and timely delivery-all while maintaining excellent customer service standards. You will help lead a team, liaise with clients and carriers, and drive process improvements to optimize logistics efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Manage end-to-end freight forwarding processes (air, sea, land)
Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and warehouses for seamless delivery
Oversee documentation (bills of lading, customs declarations, shipping instructions)
Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and provide client updates
Support negotiations of freight rates and contracts with carriers
Lead, train, and supervise freight forwarding staff
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies
Maintain accurate shipment records, costs, and performance metrics
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for service quality and cost efficiency
Handle customer inquiries and provide proactive logistics solutions
About you
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field
5-10 years of solid experience in Freight Forwarding, Shipping, or Logistics
Minimum 5 years in a similar role/industry required
Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation regulations
Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency in freight management software and MS Office
Ability to manage multiple shipments under pressure
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
Strong English communication skills
Market knowledge and negotiation ability
