Overview
The Food Attendant is responsible for ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests by providing excellent service. This includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with customer inquiries. The role requires a customer-focused attitude, efficiency, and teamwork to uphold the restaurant’s standards.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating; provide menu recommendations and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing; ensure prompt and courteous service at all times.
- Order Management: Take accurate food and beverage orders; communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff; serve orders promptly and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Food Presentation and Quality: Ensure food and beverages are presented attractively and meet quality standards; respond to special dietary needs or requests from customers.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dining area, service stations, and utensils; ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards; work closely with kitchen staff, cashiers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations; assist in resolving customer complaints or issues professionally.
- Other Duties: Assist with setting up and closing the dining area; replenish supplies (napkins, condiments, utensils); and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent; additional training in hospitality is a plus.
- Previous experience as a food attendant, waiter, or in a similar role is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Ability to carry trays and other items weighing up to 20 lbs.
Working Conditions
- May involve working in a busy and noisy environment.
