Overview

Food Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a dining establishment, such as a restaurant, cafeteria, or food service facility. They assist in food preparation, presentation, and ensure a pleasant dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet customers, take food and drink orders, and ensure timely service.
• Order Delivery: Serve food and beverages to customers promptly and courteously.
• Food Preparation: Assist in food preparation and set up food stations, if required.
• Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, tables, and food service equipment.
• Inventory Management: Ensure food supplies are stocked and assist with inventory checks.
• Safety Standards: Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Communication: Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food orders are correct and prepared on time.
• Upselling: Recommend additional items and promote special offers to increase sales.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience: Previous experience in food service, customer service, or related fields (preferred but not always required).
• Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail and accuracy; basic math skills for handling payments.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds; must be able to stand and walk for long hours.
