Cornell Ingredients Corporation is seeking an Application Technologist to develop food prototypes and ingredient applications that support customer projects and new product development.
You will work with the Business Development Team to deliver technical solutions, run trials, and evaluate ingredient performance to meet customer needs and market trends.
The Application Technologist develops food prototypes and ingredient applications to support customer projects, technical services, and new product development. The role works closely with the Business Development Team to deliver technical solutions and support business growth.
Develop, formulate, and prepare food prototypes using the company's ingredient portfolio.
Conduct product application trials across various food categories such as meat products, bakery, sauces, dressings, beverages, dairy, and confectionery.
Evaluate ingredient functionality, product performance, taste, texture, appearance, stability, and shelf-life.
Document formulation procedures, test results, and product specifications.
Assist in troubleshooting formulation and processing concerns encountered by customers.
Provide technical insights and recommendations to help address customer needs and challenges.
Assist in evaluating competitor products and alternative ingredient solutions in the market.
Assist in developing innovative food concepts and solutions aligned with market trends.
Maintain proper records of formulations, application trials, and technical evaluations.
Ensure laboratory equipment, ingredients, and supplies are properly maintained and organized.
Follow food safety, quality assurance, and laboratory best practices during all product development activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable food industry regulations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Culinary Science, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Communications, or related field.
Experience:
At least one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in food applications, product development, research and development, quality assurance, or related food industry functions is preferred.
Experience in ingredient applications, food manufacturing, or product formulation is an advantage.
Fresh graduates with relevant academic background and strong interest in food applications and product development are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of food formulation, ingredient functionality, and food processing principles.
Familiarity with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and quality management systems.
Ability to conduct product evaluations and interpret technical results.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Good time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently
