BJ Marthel International Inc. is seeking a dedicated First Aider to provide immediate medical care for employees and to uphold occupational safety on site in the Philippines.
You will assess scenes, control bleeding, perform CPR when needed, and promptly refer or transport patients under established protocols. Responsibilities include maintaining first aid kits, conducting drills, and ensuring compliance with DOLE regulations and infection control measures.
As a First Aider, you are responsible for providing immediate temporary treatment in the event of injury or illness, before a physician's services become available. If the situation requires a physician, the first-aider must promptly call or refer the injured person to one; assist in upholding occupational safety and health programs if they are part of the Safety Committee; and ensure the maintenance of medical services and facilities.
Provide first aid treatment to employees requiring assessment.
Control bleeding effectively.
Promote recovery of injured individuals.
Assess the scene and safely transfer victims to a secure area.
Preserve life in emergency situations.
Manage the emergency scene efficiently.
Implement basic infection control measures.
Inspect and maintain first aid kits.
Conduct inventory of medical supplies and medications.
Administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in cases of cardiac arrest.
Prevent infection through appropriate care practices.
Respond to incidents such as fires, natural disasters, accidents, and medical emergencies, providing immediate assistance.
Administer first aid, trauma management, and patient stabilization within the scope of training.
Perform basic firefighting duties to control and extinguish fires.
Direct personnel to safety during evacuations, ensuring all areas are cleared.
Contain and mitigate hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Evaluate the severity of situations and prioritize actions based on established protocols.
Maintain and ensure the readiness of emergency response equipment.
Participate in drills, simulations, and training to maintain team preparedness.
Prepared report as requirements by occupational safety and health standard and DOLE regulations.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in emergency response or first aid preferred.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification recognized by the Philippine National Red Cross or similar organizations.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
Additional certifications in emergency management or safety training are advantageous.
Previous experience in a first aid or emergency response role is preferred.
lFamiliarity with the Philippines' occupational safety and health standards (e.g., DOLE regulations).
Strong knowledge of first aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
Ability to assess and prioritize situations quickly and effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in basic firefighting techniques and safety measures.
Ability to lift and carry injured individuals or equipment as needed.
Physical stamina to respond to emergencies and perform necessary duties in various environments.
