Responsibilities

  • Oversee HO and CDP bookkeeping and financial records.
  • Review documents for approval in the system (DocsWave).
  • Process RFPs, liquidations, cash advances, and journal vouchers.
  • Handle banking transactions and monitor balances.
  • Liaise with banks and government agencies as needed.
  • Ensure filing and documentation of financial transactions and verification sources.
  • Coordinate with program staff on financial matters and assist in other locations when needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by Senior Finance Manager.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Finance Officer will oversee all financial operations, including bookkeeping, payment processing, bank transactions, and record-keeping for the Head Office and Community Development Projects, while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality in all financial activities. The role also involves liaising with banks and government agencies and participating in company activities.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Handle Head Office (HO) and Community Development Project (CDP) bookkeeping
  • Review all relative documents for approval in DocsWave
  • Review Request for Payment (RFP), liquidations, cash advances, journal vouchers etc.
  • Check and journal voucher preparation
  • Undertake all financial documentary management in the Head Office and CDP
  • Petty cash custodian and replenishment
  • Handles bank transactions
  • Monitor book and bank balance
  • Liaise with banks and other government agencies as needed.
  • Assist in bookkeeping at any Location in the absence of CDP finance staff.
  • Perform checking of Fund Request and Settlement Report for assigned designated/special projects.
  • Regularly updates listing of financial transactions, budget monitoring report and provides updates on financial status of designated/special projects.
  • Secure and maintain separate files of hard copies of designated/special projects financial transactions.
  • Manage filing of scanned copy of financial transactions and sources of verification.
  • Constant coordination with program staff and provide assistance on financial matters as necessary.
  • Carry any other duties as may be directed by the Senior Finance Manager
Qualifications
  • Graduate of at least, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management or other relevant degrees
  • Preferably with at least (3) years of relevant experience with an international NGO (in the areas of finance and admin)
  • Knowledge in Quickbooks is required
  • Keen on details (especially with numbers and deadlines)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning the organizations’ financial files/records
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team
