The Finance Officer will oversee all financial operations, including bookkeeping, payment processing, bank transactions, and record-keeping for the Head Office and Community Development Projects, while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality in all financial activities. The role also involves liaising with banks and government agencies, and participating in company activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Handle Head Office (HO) and Community Development Project (CDP) bookkeeping
- Review all relative documents for approval in DocsWave
- Review Request for Payment (RFP), liquidations, cash advances, and journal vouchers
- Check and prepare journal vouchers
- Undertake all financial documentary management in the Head Office and CDP
- Serve as petty cash custodian and manage replenishment
- Handle bank transactions
- Monitor book and bank balances
- Liaise with banks and other government agencies as needed
- Assist in bookkeeping at any location in the absence of CDP finance staff
- Perform checking of Fund Request and Settlement Report for assigned designated/special projects
- Regularly update listing of financial transactions and budget monitoring reports, and provide updates on the financial status of designated/special projects
- Secure and maintain separate files of hard copies of designated/special projects financial transactions
- Manage filing of scanned copies of financial transactions and sources of verification
- Constantly coordinate with program staff and provide assistance on financial matters as necessary
- Carry any other duties as may be directed by the Senior Finance Manager
Qualifications
- Graduate with at least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, or other relevant degrees
- Preferably with at least 3 years of relevant experience with an international NGO in the areas of finance and admin
Knowledge In Quickbooks Is Required
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is required
- Attention to detail, especially with numbers and deadlines
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning the organization’s financial files/records
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team
