Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in Metro Manila is seeking a Process Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in process, plant engineering and commissioning to drive design, feasibility studies, and project execution for nutrition, dairy, and food processing plants.

You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, instrument lists, specifications and BOMs, perform engineering calculations, ensure GMP/HACCP compliance, and collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in process, plant, or project engineering.
• Experience in nutrition, dairy, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or hygienic processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer site surveys and technical assessments to gather information on production processes, opss and facility constraints.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Customer Engagement & Technical Assessment

• Conduct customer site surveys and technical assessments to gather detailed information on: Production processes Operational requirements Facility constraints Process improvement opportunities
• Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, sales activities, and technical presentations.
• Promote the company's technologies, products, services, and engineering capabilities to existing and prospective customers.

Sales & Business Development Support

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Service teams to: Develop customized engineering solutions Identify plant upgrade and expansion opportunities Support business development initiatives
• Contribute technical input for proposals, feasibility studies, and project cost estimates.

Project Engineering & Execution

• Participate in all project phases, including: Initial customer engagement Concept development Feasibility studies Cost estimation Proposal preparation Detailed engineering Commissioning and startup Final handover
• Work closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, project records, design revisions, and customer communications throughout the project lifecycle.

Process Design & Engineering

• Design, develop, review, and modify: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Utility Flow Diagrams Process layouts for nutrition, dairy, food, and beverage processing plants
• Engineer and specify process systems, including:Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) systems Product transfer and distribution systems Mixing and blending systems Liquid processing systems Hygienic piping networks Heat exchangers and thermal processing systems Process vessels and storage tanks Utility systems, including: Steam and condensate Hot and chilled water Compressed air Process water/WFI (where applicable)

Process Calculations & Equipment Sizing

• Perform process engineering calculations and equipment sizing, including: Flow rate calculations Pump selection Valve sizing Tank sizing Heat load calculations Utility consumption assessments Pressure drop calculations CIP/SIP capacity requirements

Technical Documentation

• Prepare and review technical documentation, including: Equipment specifications Technical datasheets Scope of Work (SOW) documents Equipment lists Instrument lists Bills of Materials (BOM)

Compliance, Quality & Safety

• Ensure all process designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, including: GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) HACCP EHEDG 3-A Sanitary Standards Applicable local regulatory requirements
• Conduct: Hazard identification studies Process risk assessments HAZOP reviews (where applicable)
• Ensure safety requirements are incorporated into designs and implemented according to company and customer standards.

Commissioning, Validation & Technical Support

• Support and/or lead: Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) Commissioning activities Performance validation Process troubleshooting Operational optimization
• Lead or support system startup activities and customer training programs to ensure proper operation and maintenance of installed systems.
• Assist Service Support and technical teams in diagnosing and resolving process, equipment, and system performance issues during commissioning and warranty periods.

Other Duties

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in: Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering Food Engineering, Dairy Engineering Or a related engineering discipline

Experience

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in: Process Engineering Plant Engineering Project Engineering Commissioning
• Experience gained within one or more of the following industries: Nutrition Dairy Food & Beverage Pharmaceutical Hygienic Processing

Technical Competencies

• Strong experience in process plant design and engineering, including: Development and interpretation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Development and interpretation of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Process calculations Equipment specifications Utility system design
• Hands-on experience in: CIP (Clean-in-Place) system design SIP (Sterilization-in-Place) system design Validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of CIP/SIP systems
• Good understanding of liquid and powder processing technologies, including: Mixing Batching Blending Heat treatment Evaporation Spray drying Product transfer systems
• Experience with hygienic process design and sanitary equipment selection, including: Pumps Valves Instrumentation Tanks Heat exchangers Piping systems
• Strong knowledge of process utility systems, including: Steam and condensate Hot water Chilled water Compressed air Purified and process water systems
• Ability to perform engineering calculations related to: Hydraulics Heat transfer Mass balance Utility consumption Equipment sizing

Software & Systems

• Proficient in AutoCAD with the ability to prepare and review: Engineering drawings P&IDs
• Experience with Plant 3D or similar engineering software is an advantage.
