This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our manufacturing facilities and equipment. As supervisor, you will oversee maintenance operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure all equipment runs at optimal efficiency whilst maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This role is pivotal to our production capabilities and directly impacts our operational excellence and productivity.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance and engineering team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective maintenance procedures, prioritising urgent issues
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and optimise resource allocation
- Create and implement maintenance schedules, work orders and standard operating procedures
- Train, mentor and supervise maintenance technicians, providing guidance on technical skills and safety protocols
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs and equipment performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations within the maintenance department
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise production disruptions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in maintenance operations
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery and mechanical systems relevant to food manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and computerised maintenance management software (CMMS)
- Sound understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including relevant industry standards and certifications
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance or industrial maintenance
- Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments with Boiler operation is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation
