Job summary

JJ Grand Premium Fruits in the Philippines seeks a hands-on Maintenance Manager to supervise daily activities of technicians across mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines. You will plan preventive and corrective maintenance for production machinery, inspect facilities, and coordinate with Production, QA and Warehouse to meet equipment needs and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in industrial environments, and knowledge of CMMS, PLCs and HVAC systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer is preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing/food processing plant maintenance, with supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of production machinery
  • Knowledge of PLC, automation, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration/HVAC, and electrical control systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with GMP, food safety, HACCP, and plant safety requirements
  • Knowledge of OSH requirements and safe maintenance practices
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • Willingness to work in a plant/manufacturing environment and respond to emergency breakdowns

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily maintenance activities of technicians, electricians, mechanics, and other staff
  • Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance for production machinery
  • Inspect machines, equipment, electrical systems, utilities, and plant facilities
  • Respond to breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, and records
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, and Warehouse on equipment needs
  • Ensure maintenance complies with safety, GMP, and food safety standards
  • Monitor spare parts, tools, lubricants, and maintenance supplies
  • Lead root-cause analysis for recurring failures
  • Prepare maintenance reports and updates for management
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs
  • Maintain housekeeping and safe practices in workshop
  • Train and coach maintenance personnel
  • Maintain maintenance budgets and material requirements

Job description

  • Supervise and manage daily activities of maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, and other maintenance personnel.

  • Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production machinery and equipment.

  • Conduct regular inspection of machines, equipment, electrical systems, utilities, and plant facilities.

  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting and repairs to minimize production downtime.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other equipment-related problems.

  • Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, checklists, and equipment records.

  • Coordinate with the Production, QA, Warehouse, and other departments regarding equipment requirements and maintenance activities.

  • Ensure that maintenance work is performed according to safety, food safety, GMP, and company standards.

  • Monitor the availability and proper use of spare parts, tools, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.

  • Recommend replacement, repair, upgrading, or improvement of machines and equipment when necessary.

  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, equipment installation, and technical services.

  • Monitor maintenance costs and assist in preparing maintenance budgets and material requirements.

  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.

  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices in the maintenance workshop and work areas.

  • Ensure compliance with OSH requirements, electrical safety, and other applicable safety standards.

  • Train and coach maintenance personnel to improve technical skills and work performance.

  • Prepare maintenance reports and provide updates to management regarding breakdowns, repairs, downtime, and equipment condition.

  • Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; technical/vocational graduates with extensive relevant experience may also be considered.

  • Preferably a Licensed Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, food processing, or plant maintenance, preferably with supervisory experience.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, industrial machinery, motors, pumps, conveyors, compressors, generators, and production equipment.

  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of production machinery.

  • Knowledge of PLC, automation, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration/HVAC, and electrical control systems is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with GMP, food safety, HACCP, and plant safety requirements is preferred for food manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH) requirements and safe maintenance practices.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Able to prepare maintenance reports, schedules, and documentation.

  • Computer literate; knowledge of CMMS or maintenance management systems is an advantage.

  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, or holidays when required.

  • Willing to work in a plant/manufacturing environment and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
