Supports the operational performance and reliability of mechanical equipment used in food manufacturing. This role is responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining machinery, mechanical systems, and utilities that support production, including motors, conveyors, compressors, boilers, and packaging equipment. The Mechanical Engineer assists in developing preventive maintenance plans, conducting root-cause analysis on failures, and implementing technical improvements that increase equipment uptime and reduce operating costs. The position will participate in safety compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and documentation work while collaborating closely with production, QA, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operations aligned with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and utilities.
Diagnose mechanical issues, implement corrective actions, and log maintenance activities.
Assist in design, installation, commissioning, and modification of mechanical systems for process improvement.
Support energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with GMP, sanitation, safety, and food manufacturing standards.
Maintain engineering documentation and equipment logs; support audit and inspection requirements.
Coordinate external contractors/vendors for repairs and spare parts management.
Qualifications:
Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred.
Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial plant operations is an advantage.
Knowledge in utilities: boilers, compressors, chillers, pumps, HVAC, and mechanical drives.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret equipment manuals.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; can work cross-functionally with maintenance and production teams.
