The Document Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation in an organized, accurate, and secure manner. This role ensures that all documents—such as drawings, submittals, contracts, and reports—are properly filed, tracked, updated, and distributed to relevant stakeholders. The Document Controller plays a key role in document version control, compliance, and ensuring traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize all project documentation.
- Ensure documents are accurately filed, sorted, and easily accessible.
- Control document numbering, filing systems, and approval processes.
- Ensure timely submission and delivery of documentation for project requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to track, update, and manage document revisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive project information.
- Coordinate with contractors, government agencies, consultants, and suppliers.
- Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings, as required.
- Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in document control, preferably within the construction or engineering sector is an advantage.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, submittal processes, and drawing management.
