Job summary

About the role

The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance to occupational health protocols and standards in the assigned business unit. The role ensures that all personnel are knowledgeable of the different occupational health programs and initiatives of the company to maintain a health-conscious workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Health Physician in developing the company's occupational health standards, plans, and programs
• Keep the OSH team updated on new government standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, particularly those prescribed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
• Implement and promote all occupational health policies and programs in the assigned business unit, respond to inquiries and address concerns of employees regarding the policies and programs
• Identify OSH programs and information drives in support of the organizational OSH standards
• Conduct trainings and seminars on occupational health standards and initiatives of the company, such as health and hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) awareness, first aid, among others
• Participate in occupational health audit and inspection in the assigned business unit, collaborate with Occupational Health Physician in analyzing findings and feedback, and recommend action plans to mitigate risks, resolve non-conformities, and avoid workplace health hazards
• Assist the Occupational Health Physician in inspecting offices, facilities, and working conditions
• Prepare occupational health-related reports on illnesses and medical conditions in the workplace, training and education, and issues and concerns
• Organize community outreach programs, such as medical missions, consultations, and awareness campaigns
• Attend to first aid and consultation needs of employees, provide initial assessment on health condition and appropriate referral for medication or doctor consultation

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Professional License issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
• Basic Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH) training course for Nurses (OHNAP)
• At least three to five years of experience in Occupational Health/Medicine
• Knowledge in occupational health standards
• Knowledge in government regulations and compliance
• Knowledge in OSH audit and inspection
• Oral and written communication skills
