The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for managing and growing assigned key accounts within the modern trade channel. This role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, crafting joint business plans, driving volume and revenue targets, and executing in-store programs that enhance category and brand performance. The BDM acts as the primary contact for buyers, ensuring timely execution of commercial initiatives and seamless coordination with internal stakeholders.
Job Description:
1. Account Management & Business Development
- Manage daily operations and commercial performance of assigned modern trade accounts (e.g., supermarkets, hypermarkets, drugstore chains, e-commerce).
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs), including sales targets, listing expansion, promotions, and innovation launches.
2. Sales and Target Achievement
- Deliver volume, revenue, and profitability goals by account.
- Monitor sales trends, promo sell-through, and customer off-take to drive corrective actions and business reviews.
- Build strategic relationships with buyers and decision-makers to unlock opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
- Negotiate trading terms, promotional support, space, and visibility in line with company guidelines.
4. Trade Execution Coordination
- Ensure flawless implementation of agreed trade promotions, price compliance, planograms, and POSM across branches and banners.
- Collaborate with Field Operations and Merchandising teams to track execution KPIs and resolve gaps.
5. Commercial Planning & Analysis
- Provide inputs for forecasting and demand planning based on market trends and account dynamics.
- Analyze account performance, category share, and competition to guide commercial decisions.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to execute customer-specific initiatives.
- Participate in monthly business reviews and planning cycles with internal stakeholders.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Management, Business Administration or any related course
- With at least 2-year hands-on experience in sales and handling key accounts
- Has excellent interpersonal and customer negotiation skills
