We are recruiting a Payroll Officer to oversee end-to-end payroll for approximately 400 employees, ensuring accurate processing, onboarding/offboarding, reconciliations, and compliance.

The role requires Australian payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with finance and HR while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Australian payroll experience, including end-to-end payroll processing for a sizable workforce
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll compliance (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, FBT)
• Experience with payroll reconciliations and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for approximately 400 employees
• Oversee fortnightly payroll processing and review leave allocations
• Review and approve payroll calculations (salaries, bonuses, deductions)
• Process salary allocations for each pay run
• Process quarterly superannuation payments and reconcile to GL
• Maintain accurate payroll records in HR/payroll systems
• Handle onboarding/offboarding and HR documentation for new hires
• Calculate termination payments and off-cycle payments as required
• Perform payroll-related GL reconciliations and salary/bonus accruals

About The Role

The Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing and processing payroll accurately, efficiently, and on time. The role covers end-to-end payroll processing, employee onboarding and offboarding, payroll-related reconciliations, month-end accounting, statutory compliance, reporting, and payroll process improvements. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders and accounting/finance teams to ensure payroll data is accurate, compliant, and properly reflected in the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and process end-to-end payroll for approximately 400 employees
• Oversee fortnightly payroll processing, including reviewing and correcting leave allocations
• Review and approve payroll calculations, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and other adjustments
• Process salary allocations for each pay run
• Process quarterly employee superannuation payments through the relevant clearing house
• Reconcile superannuation payments to the general ledger
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records
• Process payroll and HR documentation for new employees and set up employee records in the payroll/HR system
• Calculate and process termination payments and off-cycle payments when required
• Perform payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and prepare salary and bonus accruals and adjustment journals

About you

• 3+ years of hands-on Australian payroll experience, including end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 400 employees or a similar-sized workforce
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll compliance, including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, FBT, and applicable employment requirements
• Proven experience with payroll reconciliations, general ledger accounting, month-end journals, accruals, and provisions
• Proficiency in payroll/financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication, organization, time management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage confidential information and meet strict deadlines
• Stable and reliable internet connection with at least 20MBPS for both download and upload speed
• Ability to work Day Shift from 6am to 3pm PHT
