Job summary

AS White Global is seeking a senior Payroll professional to lead end-to-end payroll operations for an Australian organization from Manila. The role requires accurate processing, compliance with awards and payroll tax, and collaboration with People and finance teams.

You will work on a fortnightly payroll cycle with a hybrid setup in Manila, starting with twice-a-week arrangements and moving toward a reduced in-office presence as operations scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5 years of Australian Payroll experience with end-to-end processing.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation (Awards, Superannuation, PAYG).
• Experience with Aurion or Workday is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for fortnightly cycles.
• Manage leave reconciliation, deductions, pay adjustments, and month-end accounting.
• Drive process improvements and cost-benefit analyses for payroll operations.
• Produce ad-hoc and scheduled payroll reports for stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee and deliver the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of the fortnightly payroll cycle.
• Manage leave reconciliation, deductions, pay adjustments, month-end accounting, and associated payment processes.
• Develop, implement, and drive strategic direction, performance, and sustainability of the payroll function, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements, including cost–benefit analysis, training, and change management support.
• Produce accurate ad-hoc and scheduled payroll reports to support business needs.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, providing expert payroll advice and timely query resolution.
• Partner with the People team to ensure payroll compliance with employment agreements, industry awards, and organizational requirements.
• Ensure adherence to risk management, governance, audit standards, and payroll-related policies and procedures.

Key Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of experience in Australian Payroll with end-to-end payroll processing
• Excellent understanding of payroll legislative requirements (Awards, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, PAYG, Workers Compensation)
• Experience with other functions of accounting would be highly advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Knowledge of payroll systems, with exposure to Aurion and Workday (desirable).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; high attention to detail, strong quality control, and effective documentation management.

Work setup

• Manila (BGC, Taguig): Australian hours (6:00AM – 3:00PM PHT) with hybrid setup 2 times a week for the first month. To move to Hybrid, once a week (every Thursday) after.
