Job summary

RCBC Bankard Services Corporation is seeking a Merchant Relations Specialist to support on-site merchant engagements and ensure POS terminals operate efficiently. You will train store staff on card and QR payment acceptance and deliver updates to merchants and sales teams.

You will pursue merchant activity targets, maintain rapport, and collaborate with marketing and operations to boost performance outside NCR. Strong communication and sales drive are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of any 4-year course preferably Marketing.
• With at least 2 years’ work experience in marketing and sales.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Has proven experience in merchant acquiring business.
• Knowledge of payment processing solutions is an advantage.
• Able to meet sales targets and work independently.
• Willing to be assigned outside NCR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular on-site visits to establish merchant rapport and ensure POS terminals are operating correctly.
• Ensure POS terminals are functioning during visits and provide updates as needed.
• Orient stores on card and QR payment acceptance procedures and deliver training to staff.
• Meet merchant activity targets and optimize merchandising displays to drive sales.
• Support marketing events/exhibits related to RCBC Installment or merchant promotions.
• Escalate merchant needs to internal support channels for resolution.

Job Purpose

• Ensures excellent customer service and merchant rapport through regular face-to-face engagements and dedicated account support (or via call-outs/phone interactions when face-to-face visits cannot be conducted due to unforeseen circumstances).

• Ensures that Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals are working and operating at optimal efficiency during on-site visits.

• Responsible for direct merchant engagement to conduct store visits, verifies terminal operations, conducts orientations for Card and QR payment acceptance procedures, delivers official updates, and trains store staff.

• Responsible for achieving merchant activity targets, maintaining excellent customer rapport, ensuring proper merchandising displays, and fostering strong relationships to support merchant sales and operational efficiency.

• Assists and participates in any marketing-related events/exhibits related to RCBC Installment or special merchant events.

• Assesses merchant needs on-site and endorse technical, account, or financial concerns to the appropriate internal support channels.
