Accounting Assistant (Entry-Level)
Role Overview
Accounting Assistant (Entry-Level) is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the finance department by managing clerical, bookkeeping, and basic accounting tasks. This role offers broad, full-cycle exposure across accounts payable, accounts receivable, statutory payroll compliance, bank reconciliations, and local tax preparation
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Saturdays are designated rest days; occasional work on-site or WFH may be required based on operational needs)
Primary Task (Focus)
- Accounting Exposure: Assisting the accounting team across multiple finance functions including basic bookkeeping and tax operations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supporting invoice processing, tracking incoming funds, and monitoring collections follow-ups.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Learning to perform bank reconciliations and compiling simple financial reports.
- Financial Documentation: Maintaining structured physical and digital archives of receipts, tax forms, vouchers, and bank statements.
- Data Privacy: Handle sensitive employee compensation details and corporate financial records with strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
General Team Support & Bookkeeping
- Provide everyday administrative and clerical support to the core accounting team.
- Assist in preparing basic financial statements, including bank reconciliations and simple internal reports.
Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Management
- Help with accounts payable workflows, verifying vendor invoices, and assisting with payment processing tasks.
- Assist in monitoring accounts receivable aging schedules and making polite, professional follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Prepare basic payment vouchers and organize supporting documents for disbursement scheduling.
Payroll Coordination & Statutory Computation
- Collaborate with HR to verify structural compensation data, specifically handling the mathematical validation of SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig brackets.
- Flag any calculation anomalies within payroll spreadsheets before final check disbursement.
Compliance, Auditing & Document Archiving
- Organize, scan, and file financial paperwork systematically to provide an effortless trail for annual internal or external audits.
- Gain hands-on exposure to regulatory filings by assisting with the compilation of necessary local tax and compliance documentation.
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of financial data and proprietary employee information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of a bachelor’s degree or associate Course in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Finance, or any closely related business domain.
- Open to fresh graduates with zero to minimal experience who possess a strong drive to learn real-world corporate finance and taxation operations.
