Burj Line Builders in Muscat, Oman is seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef to support the Pastry Chef in producing high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked products. You will assist with daily kitchen operations while upholding safety, hygiene, and presentation standards.

The role requires experience in pastry environments and knowledge of baking techniques, with an emphasis on accuracy, cleanliness, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery, hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Knowledge of pastry and baking techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other baked products.
• Prepare and measure ingredients accurately according to recipes and production requirements.
• Assist with decorating, plating, and presentation of desserts and pastries.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, texture, and appearance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Monitor ingredient stocks and report shortages to the Pastry Chef.
• Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality.
• Operate and maintain pastry equipment safely and correctly.
• Support the Pastry Chef in developing and testing new products when required.
• Assist with daily preparation and production schedules.
• Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or Kitchen Management.
