Job summary

Green Umbrella Recruitment is seeking a Pastry & Bakery Commis III in Muscat, Oman. The role supports the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of bakery items while upholding high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety.

You will work under supervision to develop fundamental pastry skills in a professional kitchen. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a pastry/bakery role, GCC experience, and are available immediately in Oman.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pastry/bakery role.
• GCC experience is mandatory.
• English language proficiency required; availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Overview

The Commis III assists in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, and other bakery products while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety. Working under the supervision of the Chef de Partie, Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen-in-Charge, the role supports daily pastry and bakery operations by preparing ingredients and keeping a clean and organized workstation. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to develop fundamental pastry and bakery skills in a professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, and other bakery items while upholding quality, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and support daily pastry and bakery operations under supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry & Bakery Commis III or in a similar bakery/pastry role.
• GCC experience is mandatory.
• Preferably available immediately and currently in Oman.
• Experience in preparing pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, and bakery products.
• Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery production techniques.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area; English is a must.
• Availability on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
