Job summary

Hynds Limited in Palmerston North is seeking a hands-on Yard & Customer Service person who can alternate between the front counter and the yard, keeping the site safe, stocked and tidy while helping customers with quotes and orders.

You'll hold a NZ Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence, operate the forklift safely, manage stock, load and unload trucks, and contribute to health and safety. We value practical sense, good communication, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence (F endorsement).
• Ability to work at the front counter and in the yard.
• People skills to talk to anyone and keep the yard humming.
• Solid computer skills and attention to stock and detail.
• Physical fitness to move product up to 20kg.
• Product knowledge is a bonus; willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Split time between front counter and yard, stay switched on for both.
• Manage yard stock, pick orders, cycle counts, and keep everything in its place.
• Operate forklift safely with daily checks and report defects.
• Load and unload trucks and assist customers with loading, by hand or forklift.
• Assist customers with quotes, orders, and on-spot queries.
• Keep paperwork accurate: dockets, invoicing, receipting, credits, and inwards goods.
• Lead health & safety and keep the site secure at day’s end.
