Job summary

Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa – Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a part-time Centre Coordinator in Waikato. The role focuses on building adult capability, leadership in sessions, and a whānau-led environment, working with centre whānau and support staff.

You will guide curriculum delivery, support adult education, and ensure sessions reflect Playcentre Philosophy while enriching children’s learning and development. Term-time only, 7.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Confident building and maintaining strong relationships
• Guidance and solution orientation with a centre-focused approach
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations
• First Aid certification
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki through rich, child-led experiences
• Role-modelling and supporting high-quality whānau-led sessions
• Providing advice on curriculum, adult education, and health and safety to support sessions
• Ensuring sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations
• Promoting Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori cultural values within Playcentre
• Other duties as required to support session delivery and pedagogy
