Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a Centre Coordinator for a part-time role in Canterbury. The position focuses on building adult capability, supporting sessions, and ensuring Playcentre philosophy is reflected in daily programmes.

As the Person Responsible on session, you will guide whānau, deliver high-quality, whānau-led experiences, and ensure compliance with ECE regulations. Residency or valid NZ work visa required.

• Confident building and maintaining strong relationships with whānau and staff.
• Ability to provide guidance and practical solutions within a centre-focused approach.
• Commitment to Playcentre philosophy and empowering whānau to be educators.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki by enabling rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting the delivery of high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Providing advice and support to centre whānau on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Recognise Te Tiriti o Waitangi and actively promote Māori cultural values within Playcentre.
