Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa seeks a Centre Coordinator to support Thames Parawai and Paeroa Playcentres during term time, delivering 9 hours weekly in a permanent part-time role. You will collaborate with whānau, lead adult education, and ensure sessions reflect Playcentre philosophy.

You will apply your Certificated teaching background, First Aid certification, and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to strengthen learning, safety and Māori cultural values.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher with ECE background.
• Experience in Playcentre or early childhood education settings.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau to be the primary educators of tamariki through rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Model and support high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Advise on curriculum, adult education and health & safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and Health & Safety requirements.
