Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a Centre Coordinator to work in partnership with centre whānau and support staff. The role focuses on developing adult capability so whānau can take greater leadership in sessions and centre responsibilities, aligning with Playcentre Philosophy and enriching children’s learning.

You will provide high-quality pedagogical guidance as the Person Responsible on session, ensuring sessions reflect Playcentre values and comply with regulations during term-time only.

Qualifications

• Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE Level 4+.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
• First Aid certification.
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori cultural values.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-model and support high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide guidance on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet Health and Safety obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi and actively engage in Māori cultural values.
