Job summary

Tonkin + Taylor in New Zealand seeks Water + Wastewater Engineers or Hydraulic Modellers to join our team. You’ll contribute to planning, modelling and design across water supply, wastewater and resilience projects, collaborating with experienced engineers and clients to understand current performance and future needs.

You'll gain exposure across planning, modelling and design, while progressively taking on more responsibility for project delivery and client relationships.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least three years' experience in water or wastewater design or hydraulic modelling.
• Experience in consultancy or local government is advantageous.
• Experience in network modelling, hydraulic analysis, infrastructure planning or design.
• Ability to interpret and quality-check engineering, GIS and asset data.
• Experience using hydraulic modelling software, GIS, CAD or similar tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication of technical information.
• Collaborative approach and sound professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to water supply and wastewater projects from planning and assessment through to delivery.
• Develop, update and review hydraulic network models.
• Assess network performance, capacity and resilience.
• Support growth planning and infrastructure investment decisions.
• Develop network strategies and masterplans.
• Investigate constraints and evaluate improvement options.
• Contribute to concept, preliminary and detailed design work.
• Prepare reports, calculations and other technical deliverables.
• Work closely with clients, project teams and technical specialists.
• Contribute to proposals, project planning and business development activities.
• Share knowledge and help grow T+T's water planning, modelling and design capability.
