Job summary

Tonkin & Taylor Limited is seeking a Water + Wastewater Engineer or Hydraulic Modeller to join our team across Aotearoa. You’ll work on water supply and wastewater planning, modelling and design, helping clients understand current performance and future needs.

We value practical engineers with strong modelling and analytical skills who can collaborate across teams to deliver robust solutions and support investment decisions. Flexibility and ongoing professional development are encouraged.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Engineering or related discipline.
At least three years' experience in water or wastewater design, hydraulic modelling, or related field.
Experience in consultancy or local government is an advantage.
Experience in network modelling, hydraulic analysis, infrastructure planning, strategies or design.

Responsibilities

Contribute to water supply and wastewater projects from planning through delivery.
Develop, update and review hydraulic network models.
Assess network performance, capacity and resilience.
Support growth planning and infrastructure investment decisions.
Develop network strategies and masterplans.
Investigate constraints and evaluate improvement options.
Contribute to concept, preliminary and detailed design work.
Prepare reports, calculations and other technical deliverables.
Collaborate with clients, project teams and technical specialists.
Contribute to proposals, project planning and business development.
