Job summary

Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children is hiring Assessor roles for nationwide work-from-home fixed-term opportunities ending on 30 June 2027. Immediate start required, with salary starting around NZD 62,500 to 65,639 depending on experience.

As an Assessor, you’ll play a key role in supporting transparency and trust. You’ll respond to requests for personal information, ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Official Information Act. This involves:

• Assessing and processing information requests accurately and efficiently
• Communicating clearly with customers, internal teams, and external agencies
• Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care
• Building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service
• Working autonomously while contributing to a supportive team environment

Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management

• Experience: Customer service and information management
• Attributes: Resilience, adaptability, and a team-focused attitude
• Cultural Competency: Understanding of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures, or a willingness to learn
• Technical: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• A private workspace and reliable internet connection
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience (preferred but not essential)
