Job summary

IDEA Services is seeking experienced Support Workers in New Zealand to assist people with intellectual disabilities and complex needs. You will help manage challenging situations through de-escalation, build independence, and support daily living tasks with a person-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability support, mental health, youth work, corrections, community services or emergency services is highly regarded.
• Ability to support people with complex behavioural, emotional or medical needs.
• Ability to work across day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide de-escalation and risk management to create safe environments.
• Deliver relationship-based support to help people gain independence and achieve goals.
• Assist with daily living activities, community participation and medications where needed.
