Qualifications

  • Experience in health and disability sector is ideal; however, we also welcome applicants with a genuine desire to build a career as a Support Worker and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Must be calm under pressure and have resilience.
  • Must have full NZ driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Building independence: Help people grow their daily living skills, from catching public transport to cooking their own meals.
  • Supporting daily life: Assist with personal care routines such as showering, getting dressed, taking medication and looking after their own home.
  • Pursuing goals and interests: Encourage and support people to engage in their interests, hobbies, and personal goals.
  • Staying healthy and well: Support healthy choices and overall wellbeing in a way that works for each person.
  • Supporting complex behaviours: Provide calm, consistent support utilising positive behaviour strategies while ensuring dignity, safety, and respect.
  • Creating connections: Support and strengthen relationships with whānau and the wider community.

Job Details
  • Full time positions, 65+ hours per fortnight
  • Must have flexible availability to work a variety of rostered shifts; mornings, evenings, overnight sleepovers, and every second weekend.
  • $24.68 - $30.13 per hour depending on qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
