Job summary

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and participate in their communities in Hawkes Bay, Napier, and Hastings. The role involves guiding clients with complex needs, managing risks, and ensuring safety while providing compassionate, individualized care during night shifts.

We welcome candidates with caregiving experience and a calm, confident approach to challenging behaviours; full New Zealand driver’s license required, with computer/tablet use

Qualifications

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or personal care for adults.
• Calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and occasional sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full NZ driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with intellectual disabilities in their own homes, including night shifts.
• Manage risk and ensure safety for clients.
• Provide individual care and respond to challenging behaviours.
