Job summary

Brendan Murray Construction 2019 Limited in Queenstown, South Island, seeks an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day site operations and keep Wanaka projects on programme, on budget and safe.

You will work with Project Managers, QSs and Administrators to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients, with mentoring and growth opportunities as part of a growing national business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience running residential or commercial construction sites in NZ.
• Relevant trade qualification (carpentry or similar) preferred.
• Current Site Safe certification with knowledge of NZ H&S legislation.
• Proficient in site management platforms (Procore/Aconex) and coordinating trades.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day site management including programme, sequencing and QC.
• Health & safety on site with inductions and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate subcontractors and deliveries; resolve on-site issues.
• Maintain quality control and track defects against spec and standards.
• Keep site records: diaries, photos, RFIs and variations.
• Liaise with clients and consultants, representing BMC professionally.

Brendan Murray Construction 2019 Limited – Queenstown, South Island

Lead the day-to-day running of our building sites and keep our Wanaka projects on programme, on budget and safe. You'll work closely with our Project Managers, QSs and Project Administrators to deliver quality outcomes for our clients.

What You'll Own

• Day-to-day site management — programme, sequencing, subcontractor coordination and quality control
• Health & safety on site — inductions, toolbox talks, hazard management and H&S documentation
• Subcontractor and supplier coordination — scheduling trades, managing deliveries, resolving on-site issues as they arise
• Quality control and defects management — ensuring work meets spec, consent conditions and BMC standards
• Site records — daily diaries, progress photos, and flagging RFIs and variations to the Project Manager/QS as they're identified
• Client and consultant liaison on site, representing BMC professionally at all times

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience running residential or commercial construction sites in New Zealand OR you're an experienced Leading Hand ready to step up into a Site Manager role
• A relevant trade qualification (carpentry or similar) is highly regarded
• Current Site Safe certification and a solid working knowledge of NZ H&S legislation
• Confidence with site management platforms; Procore, Aconex, or similar
• Strong communication skills — you can manage subbies, clients and your team with equal ease
