Job summary

Homes by Parklane is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead day-to-day operations across multiple residential sites in Canterbury. You will ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while upholding high construction standards and client satisfaction.

The role requires proven PM experience in residential builds, strong knowledge of NZ building regulations (NZS 3604), and excellent communication with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager within residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand building regulations, compliance requirements, and NZS 3604.
• Proven leadership and subcontractor management capabilities.
• A collaborative team-focused approach and commitment to achieving excellent client outcomes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong people management. Planning and problem-solving abilities.
• A current New Zealand driver’s licence.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an outstanding Construction Project Manager who is looking to advance their career and join our highly successful team.

What is the role?

You will be primarily accountable for:

• Managing day-to-day operations across multiple residential construction sites
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• Maintaining high-quality construction standards
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through effective communication
• Coordinating material ordering and project planning to ensure smooth delivery from the very start.

Key Responsibilities include

• Taking ownership of projects from contract handover, reviewing property files, consent documentation, quotations, and procurement requirements.
• Consulting with contract builders to coordinate key project milestones and timelines.
• Planning and schedule critical construction activities, including ordering frames, roofing, windows, gutters, and fascia.
• Overseeing site operations to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.
• Managing subcontractors, tradespeople, and suppliers to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance of all health and safety requirements across active sites.
• Providing clients with regular project updates and promptly address any queries.
• Conducting quality assurance inspections to maintain company standards.

What will you bring to the role?

• Previous experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager within residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand building regulations, compliance requirements, and NZS 3604.
• Proven leadership and subcontractor management capabilities.

• Strong people management. Planning and problem-solving abilities.
• A trade qualification is preferred (for example, LBP).
• A current New Zealand driver's licence.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude and self-motivation.
