Job summary

Platinum Recruitment in Queenstown is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead civil projects end-to-end for a well-established contractor in the Southern Lakes region.

This hands-on role focuses on managing programmes, subcontractors, contracts and client relationships, with a team that values hard work, camaraderie, and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Proven experience delivering civil construction projects including land development, earthworks, drainage and roading.
• Strong subcontractor and contract management capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from initiation through to completion.
• Manage programmes, resources and site coordination.
• Oversee subcontractor engagement and claims management.
• Manage variations, quality, safety and compliance.
• Assist with pricing and tendering activities.

About the role:

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the team in Queenstown.

You will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of civil projects from initiation through to completion, managing programmes, subcontractors, contracts and client relationships. Working within a high-performing team, you'll enjoy broad involvement across both the operational and commercial aspects of the business.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being involved on the ground and working closely alongside crews, rather than managing from behind a desk. The team values hard work, camaraderie, humility and a down-to-earth approach.

Skills & experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach and ability to use initiative
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
