Job summary

Archway Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Foreman to lead day-to-day on-site operations across Wellington construction projects. You will supervise trades, coordinate programmes, and act as the link between site, stakeholders, and management to deliver quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have a trade qualification in carpentry, proven supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of NZ regulations and safety. On-site leadership and problem-solving will be key to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in carpentry or related building trade.
• Proven supervisory experience on construction sites.

• Ability to read plans and specifications.

The Role

As Site Foreman, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of projects on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage programme delivery, and act as the key link between the site, project stakeholders, and management team.

This role suits a trade-qualified construction professional who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and taking ownership. This may include being on the tools from time to time.

Role Requirements

• Trade qualification in carpentry or a related building trade
• Proven experience as a Site Foreman, Leading Hand, Senior Carpenter, or similar supervisory role
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site management
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand building regulations and health and safety requirements
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organisational and planning capability
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Full New Zealand driver's licence
