Job summary

Canstaff is seeking a Trade Qualified Carpentry Site Foreperson to join a well-established locally owned construction team in Canterbury. You will oversee site operations across residential and commercial builds, reading plans and supervising staff to maintain high workmanship.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in NZ, strong leadership, safety focus, and a clean Class 1 driver’s licence; LPB license preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade Qualified Carpenter with solid industry experience (ideally 10+ years in NZ).
• Experience in residential and commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage staff on site to ensure high workmanship on all builds.
• Oversee safety on site and coordinate trades to meet project timelines.

You will be working across a range of projects including architectural homes, residential and commercial new builds, and renovations. This role suits someone with strong leadership skills who can manage staff on site while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Key Requirements

• Trade Qualified Carpenter with solid industry experience (ideally 10+ years in NZ)

• High attention to detail and strong work ethic
