Placements24 seeks a Senior Structural Engineer for its Queenstown, ZA office to lead complex structural design and analysis across infrastructure and industrial projects. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and collaboration with project teams to deliver innovative and resilient structures.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Structural/Civil Engineering, 7+ years of experience, and strong proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, and Revit Structure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and load-bearing principles.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure).
• Thorough understanding of national and international building codes and standards (e.g., SANS, Eurocodes).
• Experience with concrete, steel, timber materials.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for diverse projects ensuring code compliance.
• Perform complex calculations and modeling with industry software.
• Develop detailed drawings, specs and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, clients and other disciplines.
• Conduct site visits for inspections and construction support.
• Review shop drawings and respond to contractor queries.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters.
• Assess existing structures and propose strengthening solutions.
• Stay updated on latest structural engineering advances.
