Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS Mechanical).
• Experience with design codes for structural and mechanical engineering (SANS, AISC, ASME).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• PE/Pr.Eng designation or eligibility is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of mechanical systems, equipment supports, and related structures.
• Conduct stress, strain, and fatigue analysis to ensure safety and integrity.
• Develop detailed design calculations, reports, and drawings for mechanical elements.
• Collaborate with civil/structural and mechanical engineers and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with national and international structural codes and standards (SANS, AISC, ASME).
• Review contractor submittals and provide technical support during construction.
• Investigate failures and recommend solutions.
• Stay updated on advancements in structural analysis techniques and materials.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
