Placements24 is seeking a senior Structural Engineer to lead bridge design and analysis efforts in Queenstown. The role requires strong experience in concrete, steel, and composite bridges, along with supervision of rehabilitation projects.

The candidate should be a Pr Eng with ECSA, possessing at least seven years of bridge-focused experience and proficiency in STAAD.Pro, MIDAS Civil, or SAP2000. On-site collaboration with the project team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience focused on bridge design and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, or similar.
• Thorough knowledge of bridge construction methods and materials.
• Experience with site investigations and construction supervision of bridge projects.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage project tasks effectively.
• Commitment to working on-site as needed in and around Eastern Cape.

Responsabilités

• Perform structural analysis and design of bridges, including concrete, steel, and composite structures.
• Develop detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridge components and foundations.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments of existing bridges for rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant SANS codes, national standards, and best practices in bridge engineering.
• Collaborate with transportation planners, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams.
• Prepare tender documentation and assist in the tendering process.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site supervision and issue resolution.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software for modeling and simulation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team in Queenstown.
