Responsibilities

• Support the Checkout Manager with the day-to-day running and performance of the department
• Lead, coach, and support Checkout Supervisors and checkout team members
• Ensure high standards of customer service, presentation, and housekeeping
• Manage queues, staff breaks, shift coverage, and daily workload
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
• Support training, performance, and development of team members
• Ensure cash handling, security, and checkout procedures are followed
• Identify and resolve operational issues and communicate with management
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Act as Duty Manager when the Checkout Manager is absent, overseeing the overall Checkout department operation and making decisions when required

FreshChoice Barrington is undergoing a full store upgrade, and the checkout area is being refreshed with a new modern look and improved layout. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Checkout Supervisor to join our team and be part of this exciting new chapter. Working closely with the Checkout Manager and wider management team, you will help lead the checkout department, maintain high customer service standards, and ensure the department operates smoothly and efficiently. The Senior Checkout Supervisor will also act as Duty Manager when the Checkout Manager is absent, taking responsibility for the overall operation of the Checkout department during those shifts.
