Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island in Christchurch is seeking a part-time Checkout Supervisor to lead our busy checkout team and deliver outstanding customer service. In this role you will work closely with the Checkout Managers and Supervisors, provide coaching, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure smooth opening and closing of the department.

A LCQ and Duty Manager’s Certificate are essential, with at least one year in a customer service role with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a customer service role with responsibility, people management or a supervisory role.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in a busy environment effectively.
• Great communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience.
• Holds a current LCQ and Duty Manager’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve customer issues.
• Lead the Checkout team alongside the Checkout Managers and Supervisors, providing coaching and oversight.
• Open and close the Checkout department as required and manage day-to-day operations.
• Assist with tasks across checkout operations, including Self-Checkout lanes, Lotto, and click-and-collect.

We have an exciting part-time opportunity for a passionate, energetic and customer-driven Checkout Supervisor to join our amazing Checkout team. This is a permanent part-time position where leadership or supervisory experience is essential.

• Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer issues
• Working with the Checkout Managers and other Supervisors to lead the Checkout team including providing feedback, coaching, training and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Checkout department
• Completing varying tasks which may include checkout operating, packing, managing Self-Checkout lanes and Shop n Go, click and collect, Lotto, cleaning and trolleys
• Being in sole charge of the Checkout department and being responsible for opening and closing the Checkout department as required
