Job summary

New World Howick is seeking a Checkout Supervisor to lead the checkout team and cover the Checkout Manager in their absence. You will supervise day-to-day operations, assist with scanning, packing and charging customers, and drive customer service excellence in a fast-paced store environment.

The role requires supermarket/retail experience, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. Applicants should be physically fit and able to work the listed evening hours.

The primary role of the Checkout Supervisor is to supervise checkout team on a day-to-day basis and to perform the duties of the Checkout Manager in their absence, assisting to maximise sales and achieve specific product margins. You will be assisting in the scanning, packing and accurately charging customers for products whilst providing the highest standards of excellent customer service. You will also need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications, experience, skills and attributes required for this role:

• Supermarket or Retail experience
• Checkout or Customer Service experience is preferable.

Working hours:

Monday: 4pm to 9pm

Thursday: 10:30am to 6:30pm

Friday: 1pm to 9pm

Saturday: 3pm to 9pm

Sunday: 2pm to 9pm
