Job summary
Contact Energy in New Zealand is seeking a Senior C&I Engineer to lead instrumentation, control and functional safety solutions from detailed design through to construction, commissioning and handover to Operations on the Glenbrook Battery project.
Initially focused on Glenbrook, the role is permanent and designed to span Contact’s major projects, guiding complex control system designs, participating in HAZOPs/LOPAs, and coordinating with contractors, vendors and Operations to ensure safe,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Eight+ years of I&C engineering experience on major projects.
- Expertise across PLCs, BPCS, SIS and industrial networks.
- Experience with IEC 61508/61511 and hazardous-area design AS/NZS IEC 60079.
Responsibilities
- Lead instrumentation, control and functional safety solutions from detailed design to commissioning.
- Review P&IDs, loop diagrams, network architecture and control narratives.
- Provide senior support during FAT, SAT, commissioning and start-up.
- Collaborate with Operations, contractors and vendors to deliver safe, reliable plant start-up.
