Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for New Zealand (Auckland). You will lead engineering activities across development, pre-construction, and construction phases for large-scale solar and BESS projects.

The role demands strong leadership, strategic oversight, and hands-on collaboration with internal teams and external partners. You will drive technical due diligence, concept design, and performance analyses, while negotiating with OEMs/EPC/ICP/O&M contractors and ensuring

Qualifications

10+ years in Renewable Energy (Solar PV and BESS)
Experience with large-scale Solar PV, BESS and Hybrid projects in ANZ
Knowledge of PV technologies and components (modules, inverters, structures)
Knowledge of BESS technologies and components (cells, racks, inverters, BMS, EMS)

Responsibilities

Manage engineering activities to support the Project Development process (including acquisitions)
Lead Technical Due Diligence and manage engineering service providers
Undertake Energy Yield Assessments (EYA) and LCOE optimisation
Lead the development of concept designs and equipment sizing/layouts/SLDs
Review bids and contracts for compliance with Principal’s Requirements
Lead technical negotiations with OEMs and EPC/ICP/O&M Contractors
Coordinate and manage Technical Advisors locally and internationally
Site visits to new or construction sites
