Job summary

Contact Energy Ltd is seeking a Senior Buyer to own the goods procurement workstream for a Renewable Growth major project in New Zealand. The role involves development, construction and commissioning phases with packages valued in the millions and overall project value near $300 million.

You will lead tenders, negotiations and delivery while coordinating across engineering, procurement and project teams. The incumbent will work on-site in Auckland/Glenbrook 3+ days per week and be challenged to

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across project procurement, buying or supply chain on major capital projects.
• Ability to manage a high-value, high-volume portfolio from sourcing to delivery.
• Influence engineers, project leaders, suppliers and commercial specialists without relying on hierarchy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the procurement plan and schedule for a major project.
• Develop sourcing strategies, bring packages to market, lead tenders, evaluations and award.
• Oversee supplier engagement, quality, expediting, logistics, claims, variations and delivery interfaces.
